Educational AI

Purpose built for parents, students, teachers, and the modern era.

The story

Powerful AI, finally built for younger minds.

AI can explain almost anything, at any hour, as many times as a child needs. Almost every tool that does it was built for adults. Point a nine-year-old at one and it hands over the answer, writes a wall of text, and has no idea what they already know.

Archimedes is the patient tutor built for kids. It asks guiding questions, speaks in short sentences, and moves on only once a skill is secure. Great teaching should not depend on postcode, price, or luck, so educational access is the product we are making. Past that, the point is inventors: children with the room to wonder, build, and try the next idea.

Thomas grew up in Pinjarra, Western Australia, and started Archimedes in Perth so more children could have the patient help he had at the kitchen table. Read the mission, and his note.

How we do it

A model we trained, and a map that knows the next question.

Archimedes Think is a model we pre-train ourselves. It is not a general chatbot borrowed for the afternoon. Under it sits a recommendation layer that chooses the next question from what your child actually knows. That layer is Bayesian Knowledge Tracing: every skill carries an estimate, and every answer nudges it, lucky guesses and tired slips included.

The models stay on our own servers. A turn stays short on purpose. One question, then a wait, so the child does the thinking. How a turn works is the short version. How mastery works is the plain-English one.

Be part of their learning every day, not twice a year.

For concerned parents, a couple of written reports and a ten-minute interview is most of the formal picture. That is not the teachers' fault. They are juggling a full class. It still leaves you guessing until the next one, while you are the person at the table at 7pm.

The parent view is the same picture from your side of the table. You can see progress, which topics they are learning, and how their comprehension is holding, skill by skill. What is secure, what is stuck, and the next step. Mastery is measured that way, not in minutes on a screen. It lives on the parents page.

Hardware made for education, not borrowed from entertainment

A tablet is built for tapping and scrolling, one tap from a video. Archimedes is being built for the opposite: a child who explores, takes something apart, and gets it working. Talking, moving, building. Learning only. The device is still in progress, at A$249 plus delivery. It is not refundable, and it is not on sale yet. The waitlist hears first.

Core is the tutor plan. Plus is the fuller one. A hardware-only option is coming, with fewer features and a more basic tutor. If we ever stop, the longevity pledge is the promise that core learning, exportable data, and a plan for the device stay in place. Read the hardware plans.

A patient tutor for A$9 a week.

Core is A$39 per student a month. It runs on Archimedes Think 1.0: voice or text, self-paced mastery, and a parent view. Plus is A$59 per student a month, on Think 2.0, with more credits and 24/7 support. You need the device. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. A plan can be cancelled. Subscriptions are not refundable.

Schools are separate: discounted rates, curriculum control, and guideline control. Compare the plans, or see the hardware price. The build is written up as it happens on the newsletter.
